You may already know that the prices of many goods have increased due to the current economic crisis in Sri Lanka. We know that paper has become more expensive in the face of inflation and many services already offer hassle-free digital bills.
The Sri Lanka Electricity Board is already delivering the electricity bill to your home in paper form through a meter reader. However, due to the rise in the price of paper due to the current economic crisis, it has been decided in a meeting held today between the Minister of Energy and the Electricity Board that they will provide a paperless bill to their customers in the future.
Energy Minister Hon. Kanchana Wijesekera said in a Twitter message that a paperless bill card will be issued to consumers from next January.
